Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has warned his
champions: Make sure we’re not Liverpool next season.
The Blues wrapped up this season’s Premier League title with three games to spare, but the Portuguese won’t be resting on his laurels as he sets his sights on the challenges ahead.
And the first of those is to ensure his side doesn’t suffer the same fate as Liverpool and miss out on Champions League qualification
Speaking exclusively to the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, he said: “Next season it will be the same five [at the top]. I don’t know what Tottenham will do this summer, but for sure, among these five teams anyone can be champions, and anyone can finish fifth.
“When the season starts I have to make sure we finish top four. That’s the first step, because one of us is going to be out [of the Champions League].
“Last year it was Manchester United, this season’s it’s Liverpool. Next season we have to make sure it’s not Chelsea.”
