Major injury boost for Arsenal! Mathieu Debuchy resumes light training

Arsenal have received a major injury boost after defender Mathieu Debuchy resumed light training and could be ready for a first-team return by the start of April.

Debuchy has been sidelined since January with a shoulder injury after he was pushed into the advertising hoardings by Stoke forward Marko Arnautovic and needed surgery to clear up the problem.

The French full-back had only just returned from an ankle injury that kept him on the sidelines for three months and was expected to be ruled out until mid-April.

But Debuchy gave Arsene Wenger the perfect tonic ahead of the Champions League tie against Monaco as he joined in a light session with club captain Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby.

Arteta has also been ruled out since January after undergoing ankle surgery while Diaby has been plagued by injury problems over the last few years.

But all three players look to be finally on the road back to full fitness and could make their first-team comebacks in the next few weeks.
