Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere
has been fined £40,000 and severely warned as to his future conduct
after admitting to a charge of misconduct, the Football Association has
announced.
The 23-year-old accepted the FA charge after leading anti-Tottenham chants on Arsenal's FA Cup victory parade following their 4-0 defeat of Aston Villa.
Wilshere, who has since starred for England in their Euro 2016 qualifiying victory over Slovenia, apologised for his behaviour and admitted he got carried away by the euphoria of the celebrations.
An FA statement read:
"Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere has been fined £40,000 and severely warned as to his future conduct after admitting to a charge of misconduct.
Wilshere was found guilty of making and/or inciting certain comments during the club’s open bus trophy tour after their FA Cup Final victory, with his conduct deemed to be improper and bringing the game into disrepute."
