Tactical tweak has made Liverpool exciting again, says ex-striker

Former Liverpool striker Neil Mellor has praised Brendan Rodgers for the tactical switch which he believes has made them exciting again.
The Reds were having a disappointing season but have now lost just two of their last 22 games across all competitions following some tinkering from the Northern Irishman, which saw Raheem Sterling pushed into a central role.
And Mellor believes Rodgers deserves credit for the alteration which has turned their season around and made them a thrilling side to watch once more.
He told the Weekend Sports Breakfast: “One big thing which Liverpool missed in the final third was pace. They’ve decided to change the system and Raheem Sterling playing in the centre gave Liverpool that pace, and since Daniel Sturridge has been back he’s given them pace too.
Liverpool are full of pace now and they didn’t have that earlier in the season and didn’t look an attacking threat, now Liverpool are an exciting side to watch again.”
