Andy Murray through at Queen's but Rafael Nadal crashes out in west London

Andy Murray through at Queen's but Rafael Nadal crashes out in west London
Top seed Andy Murray won his first match of the grass court season with a straight forward 6-4 7-5 win against the spirited qualifier Yen-Hsun Lu at Queen’s Club.
The three-time champion will be pleased with his annual grass debut ahead of Wimbledon in two weeks, despite dropping his serve at the start of both sets.
Lu, ranked 63 in the world, has an impressive grass court pedigree after reaching the quarter-finals at SW19 in 2010, whilst he also knocked Murray out of the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
And the Chinese qualifier started turning heads in the early stages by breaking the world number three in the fifth game, but Murray broke back instantly.

After an error handed Murray the first set, the Scot would have been forgiven for thinking the match was a foregone conclusion, but Lu broke again at the start of the second.
Murray broke back and with a second set tiebreak looming, the number one seed made his move by breaking Lu at 6-5 to take the match and set up a showdown with Fernando Verdasco in round two.
Elsewhere, Rafael Nadal’s concerning recent form continued as the fifth seed bowed out in the first round to unseeded Ukrainian Aleksandr Dolgopolov.
The Spaniard recovered from losing the first set but eventually succumbed 3-6 7-3 4-6, on a day when there where wins for Stan Wawrinka and reigning champion Grigor Dimitrov.
