Manchester United and Chelsea are actively exploring the prospect of prising Luka Modric away from Real Madrid.
The Daily Star says several sources in Spain claim Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal are big admirers of the 29-year-old, and are keen to lure him back to England this month.
It's believed both managers are willing to offer Real £48m for the former Tottenham midfielder, who has slipped down the pecking order at the Bernabeu following the arrival of Toni Kroos.
According to well respected FIFA agent Francois Gallardo, Modric's wife could force the diminutive midfielder to leave Madrid.
