The Daily Star Sunday says reports in Spain suggest the Croatian is unsettled and wants to come back to England where he feels at home.
And it's good news for Manchester United and Chelsea who will be keeping a close eye on the Real Madrid midfielder's situation.
Influential agent Francois Gallardo believes the playmaker's other half could play a huge role in bringing the former Tottenham star back to the Premier League.
Gallardo said: "Modric is the engine of Real Madrid, but the problem it is his wife who did not fit into Madrid in Spain."
