The family of Manchester United star Angel di Maria have become victims of a home terror raid.
The Sun reports a gang of three armed thugs used scaffolding poles to smash patio doors at the Argentine winger’s Cheshire mansion, but fled empty-handed when an alarm went off.
The incident is believed to have occurred at around 8pm on Saturday, just hours after Di Maria had starred in United’s 3-1 victory over Leicester City at Old Trafford.
Di Maria, his wife and young daughter were said to have been whisked away from the house by United’s security team and later taken to a hotel by police.
Cheshire police have confirmed they are investigating.
