Daniel Bryan has been handed a lifeline to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight championship at Wrestlemania - but he'll have to get past Roman Reigns first.
The bearded wonder, 34, knocked off Seth Rollins in the main event of Raw to take an unexpected step towards realising his Wrestlemania dream after The Authority set up a series of clashes to settle the number one contendership.
Addressing the "controversial" ending of the Royal Rumble that saw The Rock intervene on Reigns' behalf, Bryan's complaint he had not received a rematch for the title since being stripped of it himself and Rollins' insistence he should be in the championship mix, Triple H announced the winner of a Bryan vs Rollins bout would go on to face Reigns at Fast Lane later this month.
Reigns' miserable night continued with an opening match defeat to Big Show. Clipped in the back by Rollins' briefcase in the lead up to the decision, the former Shield powerhouse - who made it clear to crowd darling Bryan he had no desire for them to be on particularly friendly terms - got at least a measure of revenge later on in the evening, blasting Seth with a Superman Punch ahead of Bryan's decisive knee.
Elsewhere, Dean Ambrose called out Bad News Barrett for an Intercontinental championship showdown, following his recent non-title win over the Brit brawler.
