Senegal left-back is Crystal Palace's fourth signing of the January transfer window

  • Pape Souare joins Crystal Palace from Lille, where he rose through the ranks
Crystal Palace have signed Pape Souare from Lille on a three-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee, subject to the player receiving a work permit.
The 24-year-old left-back came through the ranks at the French club and has played 55 times in Ligue 1 and was part of the team who won a league and cup double in 2010/11. He also had a season-long loan with Stade Reims in 2012/13.
Souare has won five caps with Senegal and flew over to Palace from the Africa Cup of Nations, where he has featured twice, to complete the move.
Once his work permit is received Souare will start training and will look to feature in the Palace squad who will travel to face Leicester City on Saturday, 7 February.
Souare is the fourth signing made by Alan Pardew this transfer window after Yaya Sanogo (loan from Arsenal), Jordon Mutch (from Cardiff City) and Shola Ameobi (unattached)
