AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi called GM Adriano Galliani immediately after last night's Coppa Italia defeat to insist coach Pippo Inzaghi must stay on.
Inzaghi went into the tie with Lazio with the axe swinging above him, but Berlusconi has decided to keep the coach on.
The president won't confirm Inzaghi for the remainder of the season, however, and if results do not improve, Milan intend to dump him and place No2 Mauro Tassotti in charge until June.
Milan sit ten points behind the top three and have lost four of the last six Serie A games.
