Chelsea will compete with Real Madrid should Raheem Sterling become available from Liverpool.
The Daily Express says the Reds are desperate to get Sterling to commit his long term future to the club but saw there opening offer - which doubled the 20-year-old's wages to £70,000-a-week - rebuffed.
And reports this morning suggest that Sterling has treated Liverpool's improved offer with similar disdain.
Now Chelsea and Real Madrid are on alert after Raheem Sterling turned down Liverpool's latest contract offer.
Some reports suggest that Sterling wants to use the interest from Chelsea and Real to force Liverpool to break the £100,000-a-week barrier to get him to stay.
